Cotton Castle

LIMESTONE TERRACES IN TURKEY

The name Pamukkale means cotton castle in Turkish, and it is known for its breathtakingly beautiful white terraces of limestone, which are created by the flow of hot springs. The terraces are formed over thousands of years, as the water deposits calcium carbonate, which solidifies and creates the formations.
